Hi Guangzhou - She is in Urban Village

This city is my most familiar alien land. It is the third time that I visit this city, but it is the first time that I get to know it profoundly.

In June, it is rainy in Guangzhou, and because of the heavy rain, the flight to Guangzhou was delayed for three hours. However, after arriving in Guangzhou, the fresh air after the rain refreshed us, and it might be an indication that the shooting would goes well.

The hotel where we live is located in Longdong Village, which is considered as a well-developed urban village. There are various business and shops with local characters here, and this is really a good place to experience the civil life of Guangzhou

I've been to Guangzhou many times before. Every time thinking of this city, the first impression in my mind is that Guangzhou's economy is very developed.Guangzhou is one of the most developed cities in China and one of the most populous cities. As of the end of 2019,  the number of Guangzhou’s long-term resident population reached more than 15 million, which is at the forefront of China. A large population

Canton Tower, with 600m height

has rought tremendous impetus and potential to promote the development of the city. The magnificent Canton Tower is a typical symbol of Guangzhou's development, which is also the first place we visited after checking in.

However, this field trip does not focus on the developed regions of Guangzhou. Our purpose is to investigate the urban village in Guangzhou, especially women living there. A large population is a double-edged sword, and the bad side is that the polarization of the city would be more serious. The number of people at the bottom is very large, resulting in a large number of urban villages in Guangzhou. These urban villages are less developed, and the living environment is relatively poor. They are the typical places where poor people gather and live.

During the previous field trip in Indonesia, the living and mental conditions of the women living in these such underdeveloped areas really touched me, and so I want to focus on relative researches. I believe that in the next few days, these urban villages can provide me with good research objects.
