Xian Village - Photography
As the most typical urban village in Guangzhou even in China, Xian Village carries too much urban development history and occupants' memories.

Xian Village is located in the central area of Tianhe District, Guangzhou. Now most of the residents in the village have moved away, and the existing buildings here are particularly dilapidated, in sharp contrast to the surrounding skyscrapers in the CBD.

Although most of the original residents have moved out, some residents of Xian Village still insist on living in several dangerous buildings. Even the surrounding buildings have already been demolished.

"The future is so beautiful. Let's go home together," reads the slogan of Xian Village's renovation project on a wall outside the village's dilapidated building. It seemed to foreshadowed the bright future of Xian Village.

This is a comparison of the old buildings in Xian Village, the renovated houses under construction and the renovated houses completed, which shows the development process of Xian Village reconstruction project.

This is the corridor of the restored houses in Xian Village. Although there is still a little gap between them and the surrounding high-end communities, the new houses are much better than the original dilapidated houses, and their location determines that these houses are worth a lot of money. Many of Xian's original villagers have been given a large sum of money and several apartments for redevelopment by the government. Thus the villagers of Xian became the envy of other urban villagers.

Through the window of the newly renovated houses of Xian Village, there is a paradoxical scene: some old houses that have not been demolished is existing with some new buildings under construction. They recorded the twists and turns of the Xian Village reconstruction project over the past over ten years.
